Birthday party questions wwyd

We are having my twins party at sat t swim. They are 5.

We are able to have 24 children/adults in the pool. yes we could pay more for more kids but I felt with 5 year olds more than 18-20 kids in the pool it might be a little crazy and I wanted the party to be safe.

So with that after family friends my twins were able to pick 4 kids each from school. (out of 22). School was fine this.

Fast forward to now....my twins are getting invites to parties of some of the kids we didn't invite. Some are not an issue because my kids really don't play with them and they don't want to go to the party anyway. But some they would go. I just feel bad accepting their invite when we didn't invite them?

wwyd?

I don't think you have to invite them because they invited you. My daughter has attended numerous parties where we weren't able to invite them to hers.

You definitely don't have to invite them just because they invited your kids to theirs. After our party back in December another mom at school was talking about her daughters bday and said in front of the other parents "I heard you had a party. We didn't get the invite". I had to explain to her in front of the other parents who's kids weren't invited that parties are expensive and the twins only got to invite 2 friends each. Everyone seemed to understand and my twins are still getting invited to parties.

Edited for spelling. My 3 year old likes sit on my lap and press buttons while I'm typing Chat Icon

Don't feel guilty. I only invited one of DS 1's classmates (he is still tight with friends from daycare) and DS 2 is having a small party as well.

You can't invite everyone.

I would feel a little guilty too lol. But, like others have said, there's only so many people you can invite. Some parents invite the whole daycare/class, while others only invite a few. I wouldn't feel bad if I invited someone to a party and we weren't invited to theirs.

Thanks everyone. I'll leave it up to the kids and if they want to go I won't feel bad!
