Bahamas with a 3 year old- car seat question

First time we are traveling with our 3.5 year old DS. We have transportation with a car seat to and from the NY airport. My question is what is the norm for landing in the Bahamas and getting to the hotel? Do I bring my car seat?? Does he just sit on my husband's lap? I've never been in a taxi/ shuttle with DS so this is all new to me.. Tried searching this board but couldn't find the answer. TIA

I've been to the Bahamas a handful of times. Every time, I've taken one of those shuttle/bus vehicles. They are pretty old so their seatbelts aren't really fully functioning. The last time we were there, my oldest was 9mo. I had his infant carseat but I couldn't properly secure it in the vehicle anyway. I would either call a company down there with newer vehicles and bring your carseat OR put your child on your lap and put the seatbelt around the two of you... not the safest option I know, but a carseat would be useless if you can't properly install it.

I went to the Dominican Republic in March and to Disney in December. DS is 3 years old and he sat on my lap and next to me on the shuttle buses. I did't see anyone with a car seat.
