NYC this week!
Hi
We will be taking our two kids into the city tomorrow for the night -nothing planned. Kids are 6 and 9. We usually don't plan and end up wherever but with the weather being iffy I would like a plan this time.
Our must see is the tree at rockefeller and after that we are open to anything. Maybe St Patricks - are they still working on it?
We have done the rockettes for the past four years but are going to miss them this year.
Thanks!!
PS I promise we won't walk four abreast on the sidewalks, stop in our tracks to take pictures or ooh and aah at anything and we most definitely won't have any maps in our hands

We were just in on Sunday and did the 5th avenue thing as well.. St. Patrick's is completely done on the outside and inside and is quite beautiful. Just be warned the city was MOBBED! The village shops at Bryant Park behind the library is nice to walk through.

The city is insane. I just left work and the amount of tourists is crazy. Even in the rain. Personally I would avoid the tree and the typical tourist destinations

Re: NYC this week!
We just did that area on Sunday and it actually wasn't bad at all.
We did the Saks windows, Rock Center, American Girl store, Lego store and then lunch. Saks has a lights show every 10 mins after 4:45pm that you can see from Rock Center, too. St Pats is right there, too.

We were there on Saturday and it was ridiculously mobbed around Rockefeller plaza area..I've never experienced that before. We literally couldn't even walk on the sidewalks it was too packed. Sorry to be negative just wanted to give a heads up. I did get a great pic of the tree though lol

We are going to see Pedal Punk this week at New Victory, it looks great and has great reviews. I'm sure they have a Wed night show, although might be sold out.

Re: NYC this week!
Thanks everyone..we drove in this morning and the area around the tree and Rockefeller was MOBBED..I have never seen anything like it....the funeral service for that fallen officer was taking place at at ST. Patrick's so that was mobbed but we had never seen so many police officers in one spot..very sad but my 6 year old was in serious awe of seeing all those officers filing out. We are staying in the financial district and honestly it's such a relief from being up town..tthe buildings are do beautiful and it feels so christmassy down here..so feel happy with our decision to stay down here..will stay down here and around wooster..prince tomorrow before heading home. So yes the crowds are BIG around mid town this week!

Re: NYC this week!
I don't know if you are still here, but there is an iceskating rink in Battery Park City, outside of Brookfields. It makes it for a nice walk by the river, as well.
