Where would you go if you had a long weekend coming up ?
With no kids?
We've done Boston. Newport. Cape Cod. Upstate region.
Any other ideas?

I know you said upstate, where upstate? Depends on the feel you are going for.... Saratoga Springs, maybe a sweet little B&B in Vermont/NH, Greenport...

Usuallly long weekends are trips to see family.. So Syracuse and finger lakes. Buffalo, Boston, philly, or Virginia

DH and I are going to Stowe, VT for MLK week (M-Thurs). We're staying at the Green Mountain Inn, getting couples massages, doing a one-horse sleigh ride up at one of the lodges, romantic dinners, and then exploring Burlington on the last day. It's about a 5-hour drive for us.

The Acela(sp) train from Penn to DC is really easy and fast.
We haven't been in a few years and we don't ski but we love Warwick NY, SugarBush it's not far at all in Orange County. There is skiing nearby. We usually stay at a B&B
