Mandy Moore Is Asking for Something We Have Never Heard of in Her Divorce Settlement
Since filing for divorce in January, Mandy Moore and Ryan Adams are working through the necessary proceedings. One of the major topics? Figuring out the custody of their eight pets (six cats and two dogs!), TMZ reports.
Divorce documents obtained by TMZ say Moore has been taking care of all their animals and is hoping for support, since Adams allegedly said he would help out with at least two of the cats.
Moore has also asked for spousal support from Adams, who makes around $151,000 per month, while TMZ says Moore makes less than a quarter of that amount.
Moore voiced Rapunzel in 2010's Tangled and Sheriff Callie on the animated series Sheriff Callie’s Wild West. Her last album, Amanda Leigh, came out in 2009.
Here's to hoping they can work this out.

So she's pulling in roughly $40k a month and can't afford to care for her animals?

Hmm well I made a lot less in a year back in my early 20's than she makes in a month and yet I managed to keep a roof over my head, food in my belly, the lights on AND kept a cat happy, fed, insured and healthy.
What a d1ck!

Well the expenses should be split if they both want ownership of the animals. If she is taking care of them most of the time and he still wants custody of them then he should pay for part of their care. Animals are $$ with vet bills, food, boarding, ect.. I don't see why it is so outrageous for him to pay for part of the expenses each month.

This is so dumb. My cat has $7 bag of cat food. Deal with it.

Can you even request support for animals? I'm not a lawyer, but wouldn't the law consider the animals property? so I'm trying to understand how it would work trying to request "support" for property. It appears that if you decide to take ownership of said property, then you can't ask for the other party to pay for the support to maintain it.
Seems like she is just grasping at straws here.

Yeah I tend to agree. That woudl be like me getting the house from my DH in a divorce then telling him that he has to pay for the lawn care, cleaning lady, pool maintenance etc.
Makes no sense
