The Leftovers Finale (Spoilers)
Who else watched? What did you think? I wonder what made Evie snap and join the GR. All she wrote was "You Understand" to her mother. I wonder what the grandfather did to John that made him so angry.. was hoping that we would find out. At least there was a happy ending of sorts when Kevin was reunited with his family.

It was good!
I'll be sooooo bummed if it doesn't get picked up for a 3rd season. It really gained steam this season.

I was surprised by Evie, i though that she was taken by the GR and then brainwashed, which could still be the case as she- has a lot of sadness in her life because both of her parents are dealing with grief, and also because her dad was in jail during her childhood. She probably leeched onto the GR and was easily manipulated bc of it. Maybe she also had something traumatizing happen to her -- with John? As i think more about it i think something happened to her father or with her father that he was incapiable of "letting go" -- just like the cricket incident. He lives his life a certain way and im sure is not easy to be around. It is just all to odd that before she leaves Evie seems perfectly normal -- happy even.
I think that the grandfather sexually abused his daughter, or maybe even Evie? That is why John tried to kill him (went to jail) and then why the grandfather said he went through the death/back to life process -- to repent for what he did wrong. It makes sense that he is at this point past it and sorry for what he did, as the boy (Evies brother) is paling around with him -- and as a Christian im sure he is heavy into forgiveness.
The way the episode ended yesterday got me thinking -- what is real and what is isnt? Are they ALL just living in a purgatory (like in LOST - same writer i think). As people deal with their issues, show remorse, or repent things seem to progress -- like with the woman in the wheelchair and her husband. And finally Kevin has his ENTIRE family under one roof... everyone safe... everyone "HOME" as he sung ... I dont know, maybe that is his heaven. Hope they bring the show back.

I need to know what the grandfather did, BUT, I'm confused - is it Erika's dad or John's dad?
Meg is PSYCHOTIC. Liv Tyler scares me. 
I love this show - the writing was so amazing this season. Nora Durst is one of my favorite characters of all time. The way she protected Mary, amazing. So selfless. I love her.
Again, I can't stand Tommy. Ugh. They give us all these strong female characters, and all these weak male characters. I need some balance.

I was confused too, but just remembered that Virgil is actually the mothers father, not Johns. We learn this only in this episode -- when she tells her son to "stay away from my father"

Right, so I'm thinking it's NOT sexual abuse...
I think it still could be. When Kevin asked Virgil what he did he looked down at the nether regions.
Also, Miracle is a small town, and John knew his wife as children. Something could have gone down btw Virgil and John, Virgil and his daughter, etc.
I think for John to eventually shoot him (years prior) it must have been bad. Someone i know just told me they think Virgil raped his daughter and the twins are actually the grandfathers kids... that is some crazy ish!!!!
