Now I need potty training advice

Last 4 days at home and out running around dd did great only 2 accidents total and that was only the first and last day.

She went to daycare today and had 3 accidents. 1 in the morning and 2 around 430ish. Dh says we aren't going back to keep her in underwear but I don't know what the right answer is. She is 2.5. She says she wants to use the potty.

Any words of wisdom?

I think you just need to give it more time. Accidents will happen and she's not used to the potty at daycare yet.

Re: Now I need potty training advice

Does she feel comfortable on the potty at school?
Does she have a little potty at home (more independence) but needs to ask/tell an adult at achool?
Is she wearing underwear at school? Maybe loose pants with no underwear would be better - feels more different than panties which feel like diapers.

Keep at it! She definitely just needs to work on generalizing!

She has a potty at home and the regular toilet at home. They have been working with her at daycare for months with the potty but she also has had her pull up on so she always had the freedom to refuse so now it's a different ballgame.

She has underwear on. She only gets pull ups for naps which she requested.

This is the same child who 2 days after her 2nd bday climbed on top of the big potty and went saying I big girl and who was 99% trained during the summer but had a 120% reversion

She's strong willed so we know we have to be a bit firm but push too much and she pushes back so this will be fun.

My dd is very stubborn too... Only "freedom" worked with her, which is why the little potty at home was so crucial. She sent me away from day one! Can you have dd bring you In to the bathroom at school when you drop her off to show you her routine? There may be an obstacle in her way.

If she's not sitting every half hour when the staff tells her, would a sticker chart work?

I'd keep at it. At 2 she's probably easily distracted at dc with toys, other kids, etc. Do they take her regularly or wait for her to tell them she needs to go?

have daycare remind her.....The first few days back at daycare my DS had accidents because he didn't go before nap or playground time etc. Also, I think he felt rushed if it was before those activities because all the kids tend to go then so he wasn't emptying out his bladder.

It takes time and there will be accidents but once you have come this far I would not go backwards.

Your DH is right - don't go back now. She will get it. My DD trained really quickly.. maybe 1 or 2 accidents the second day, none the third day. Then I sent her back to day care and she had a few accidents. She'll get it, they probably just have to remind her to go in day care.

Daycare is good with taking her. She pushes back and they arent the best with fighting her. She knows Dh and I mean
business in the nicest way of course. I took her today when we got to daycare so we will see how it goes. Her drawer looks like she moved it with all of the extra pants, socks, underwear and even shoes just in case.

At home she is still doing great. Daycare still a challenge. I asked her why she pooped in her pants yesterday at school and she said her toy made her forget. She's a little stinker.

hang in there. The difference in schedule at daycare and home may be enough to throw her off.
