Potty Training Advise

DD is 33 months and I was all set on potty trainer her this weekend. I have been telling her all week we were going to throw out her diapers and put on the princess undies she picked out. I think she is ready, but am not positive and now I am starting to chiken out about doing it. Any BTDT advise? I was going to stay home all weekend and have her sit on the potty every 30 mins. If I don't do it this weekend it is going to have to wait till the end of October aswe are so busy this Fall. I really don't know what to do Chat Icon

Re: Potty Training Advise

my dd was VERY resistant. She didn't really take to it until I bought the DVD "potty power" ...I would make her sit on the potty while watching it and sure enough she would go every time!!

Where did you get this DVD? She has 3 friends who are potty trained and I am really starting to feel the pressure. I think she is ready, btu I am not sure if I am just caving in the pressure.

Our library has the potty power DVD. DS loved it. Since you have been talking it up and are all ready give it a try. Has she used the potty at all?

Re: Potty Training Advise

I say just go for it and don't look back. Is it hard? Absolutely, but be patient and she'll be fine. It's a learning process for them and for us. We just decided to go to underwear and not look back. That was almost 2 months ago. She still has accidents here and there, but I would consider her completely potty trained now at 27 months.

Re: Potty Training Advise

We tried and it ws an absolute nightmare. She had 5 accidents in 1 1/2 hours and waslaughing everytime she peed on her princesses. I just don't think she is ready. We put her back in the diaper. Not sure if this was the right thing to do but I just don't think she was getting it. I am really sad about it....Chat Icon
