Prepaid Credit Cards?
I'm looking for a way to get my mom money every month without having to actually send it. So I thought maybe a prepaid MC or Visa I can have $$ automatically put on every 1st of the month.
But I'm getting a little confused with what I'm reading online. That most have monthly fees?
Anyone have any information on a card i can get that doesn't have any additional fees (Except from the initial cost to get the card) Any experience with this?
Also wondering if I can get something through chase bank itself instead going to a store and buying one from the shelf
Thanks

I'm assuming she doesn't have a bank account?
If she has Chase and you have Chase, you can quickpay
If she has a different account you can use Venmo
I am taking sending like literally sending through the mail, not electronically, so sorry if I misunderstood

Yea. That's what I was saying. I'm trying to avoid literally writing a check every month for her. She doesn't have chase. She has some weirdo jersey bank lol What is this venmo ? Is that like chase quick pay? I'm really just trying to avoid a fee every month - id rather her get the entire amount I'm sending.

Prepaid Credit Cards?
Could you use a debit card with a Visa or MC logo? That way you could just put money into the account linked to the card

I cant link her and I with any accounts bc of her disability and shes in rent control for seniors. They look at every little thing her name is attached to.
That was my first thought. But we cant

Re: Prepaid Credit Cards?
I'm looking to set it up as an automatic "payment" every 1st so I don't have to remember and she doesn't have to wonder if the money is there to use if I forget.

Venmo is an app (website too), not sure if you can schedule, but I've used it to send and receive and never paid a fee

Re: Prepaid Credit Cards?
what about a secured card that you put money on from capital one. We got one to rebuild credit. although im not sure if after a certain amount of time if it would turn into a credit card.
what about wire transfers from the bank?

Re: Prepaid Credit Cards?
Amex has a whole range of these. I just saw a sign for one in CVS that said no fees. It's set up as a debit card. I don't know the specific product name though.

Re: Prepaid Credit Cards?
I have a capital one 360 account and you can send money to people and they mail a paper check on my behalf. I just needed I think their email address and physical address. I used this when I had to pay rent to my dad. I was able to do it automatically. Check with your bank they may have so ething similar?

Re: Prepaid Credit Cards?
We use pnc for this. I send my parents and brother money through pnc bill pay, it's an auto send check that I don't have to worry about each month. I know I'm able to set up real bills online, but not sure about this since I happened to be in the branch and had our finance guy do it for me.

Re: Prepaid Credit Cards?
I just spoke to someone at chase. They have a Chase Liquid card that's prepaid.
She wasn't able to say if it had to be in my name AND hers or I can just do hers. But said there's a 1 time $25 fee for card. Then $4.95 a month service fee which they will wave if I have it linked to another chase account (which I have) And I can have it set up to have $$ automatically sent to the card on a certain day per month.
She had limited info for me
So im gonna go to Chase next week and go over it all. I want to make sure that being it'll be linked to my acct, she wont be able to overdraft or have it affect my other accounts whatsoever.
Just when I thought this was going to be simple.
if this chase thing doesn't work, I will be looking at the AMEX cards. They seem to have the least amount of fees
Thanks for your help
