car sick/bus sick

My 5 year old DD sometimes gets carsick, once it happened after a 3 hour car trip, once after a 20 minute car trip, so i'm not sure what the cause is, but dramamine always helps. Next week she's going on a field trip and will be on the bus for the first time. It will be a 25/30 minute drive, do I give her dramamine ahead of time so she isn't sick a nd upset? I'm also worried she will get drowsy from it. Anyone have experience with anything like this, advice? :)

When she gets sick, does she bounce back or is she out of it for a while?

No experience but I'd prob not give Dramamine before the trip- does it make her sleepy?

Maybe the excitement of being with all her friends will keep her busy and she'll be ok
