November overnight
Any recs for a one night getaway in November for a couple? No more than 2 hours drive?

Mohegan sun is always a good time. Plenty of restaurants and nightlife, Indoor pool, spas, and of course the casino.
ETA its about 2.5 hrs drive

LOVE it there and we don't' even gamble.
Depending how far east you are, the Orient Point Ferry is a great option too

How about Manhattan?
I had a friend who would occasionally do a weekend getaway to various hotels around NYC. Thought it was a bit odd when they lived in the UWS. Now I think it is a wonderful idea. Enjoy the hotel and surrounding neighborhood that you probably would not normally go to.

We do this -
it's one of my favorite things to do - We live on LI now, and miss living in the city (me, especially) so once in awhile, we leave the kids w/ my parents and do a night or weekend there -
We both work in the city, but it's a constant rush in/out etc. Even if we have an event after work - it's still work related, you don't get to really enjoy just hanging out ........
