Gift idea help
A close family friend is FINALLY moving back into her home after Sandy.
She is a good friends mother. Single and live alone.
She is hosting her grand daughters first biirthday at her home (my god daughter). We want to get her some sort of housewarming gift.
Any ideas? Something sentimental? This has been a long haul for her. Trying to keep it around $50

What about a nice picture frame with the words Family or something like that? I've seen them at BBB. I know some many families lost frames, pictures, etc.
It would be even nicer if you had any pictures of them you could put in the frame.

the picture frame is a nice idea even if you can find one that says, home and family is where the heart is...
she will be making new memories in her new home, a new beginning.
she must need new items, I worked with families dealing with Sandy for over 2 years. Anything home related would be good

Yea, I agree. I dont like when people buy me home decor stuff. I know they mean well and it's sweet, but not really my taste.
definitely a GC and wine with a very nice card.

Does she drink wine or serve wine when guests are over?
One of my favorite items EVER is an electric wine bottle opener.
I'm not good at the old-fashioned way with the twisting - I can never open a bottle of wine.
But the electric one -- a TEN year old could do it! Well, a ten year old shouldn't be opening wine but if they HAD to, they could do it! 
Anyway, it works so well and it is a great gift for older people, women, etc. who need to be Popeye to open a darn bottle of wine.
LOVE it - they have a bunch of choices at BBB
I like to give it as a gift with a bottle of wine

I would go to ETSY and see if you cant get some beautiful sign, framed that says "There's no place like home". Not Oz related.
