ticket for headlight out
Got a ticket for my headlight being out (I had noticed about 20 minutes prior when I saw the reflection in the car in front of me.)
The officer said if I get it fixed within 24 hours it'll be dismissed. Obviously, I will do this tomorrow.
It doesn't say what to do on the ticket. I know I have to send in the paperwork proving I got it fixed. Do I plead not guilty? Also, it says on the Nassau County website I still have to pay a $30 fee, but it doesn't say anything about that on the ticket at all. So do I pay or no?
Can anyone help? TIA!

Pretty sure you just have to bring the ticket and the car to the precinct and they'll come out and make sure it was fixed and then it'll be dismissed. I don't believe DH had to pay.

Re: ticket for headlight out
Hopefully it will get waived, but since it's Nassau County, absolutely plan for paying some kind of fee.

Bring it to the pct and they will look at it and waive it.

Re: ticket for headlight out
Thank you so much. I didn't know I could go to the precinct. That makes me feel better bc another concern I thought of after I posted was how do I know for sure it got dismissed.
