Can you partition your section of the room off with something like this?

Re: Space issues
I didn't click on the link but a partition is not an option.
Picture a small classroom and that's my setting.
Lots of adults with wheelchairs and other issues so that already takes up the majority of the space.
Basically I'm being asked to create blood from a stone and there's a definite us vs. them mentality going on.

Re: Space issues
If you and your students left the room during the lunch period, where would space be allocated for you to be in ?

Re: Space issues
We can't leave the room during lunch. Someone has to watch the patients. Hence, my frustration ;)

So sorry!!! Ask them to install fold up bar counters!! Just tell them you want to maximize all the space and maybe they'll realize a bigger room is needed because this sounds like a safety concern.

Yep.
I'm guessing something will have to happen for change to occur.
I'm not going to worry.
It is what it is.
I'm also not going to kick out the aides or my students. CYA always LOL.
Thanks for listening to the weird vent but it really is super annoying.

Re: Space issues
If the other therapists are having lunch at that time, can you move your group to one of their rooms during that time? I work in a school and it's not unusual for me to move my counseling group to the slt room if the group room is being used for something else (sometimes even for lunch detention!).

Re: Space issues
No even smaller offices. I run a day program so it's not fair for us to relocate.
Just edited my OP. Was early in the am and I don't think I was super clear.
So basically, outside people come into MY room to eat.
Its annoying because I'm responsible for people I don't even know. It's super crowded with my own people already.
Getting slack that I need to be more supportive and am acting terrotorial, but it's MY program, KWIM? And other staff get lunch whereas I dont....treated like a babysitter.
Of their patients!!
