How much milk?
My DS just turned 1 and we have transitioned to cows milk without any issues. We've continued the same eating schedule. I just read something that they should be having about 20oz of cows milk tops per day and he's having way more than that. Should I be cutting back? He eats his solid meals w/o any issues so certainly getting other nutrients just fine. He's average weight. How much were your 12 month olds drinking?
Here's his current schedule 6:30AM 7.5 oz bottle 8 AM breakfast (fruits) 9:30 AM Nap 1 11 AM 7 oz bottle 12:30 PM lunch (veggies) 3PM Nap2 4:30 7oz bottle 6PM will snack on whatever we have for dinner 8:30pm 8-10oz bottle
so on average he has about 30oz of cows milk per day.

How much milk?
By a year I was giving my kids 1 bottle in the am about 6 oz and one at bedtime 6 oz. I dropped the post morning nap bottle and replaced the post afternoon nap bottle with yogurt. I think if your kiddo is eating 3 meals and drinking that much milk and doenst have weight issues then that's fine! The only thing I can see is that fruits and veggies without carbs/proteins may be not very filling which is why your kiddo is still able to drink that much milk-- do you give any proteins or carbs during breakfast lunch or dinner?

We try and give him proteins with his veggies but honestly he isn't a fan of the texture of chicken or meats and consumes very little of it. On the weekends when I am home with him I will make him eggs for breakfast.
He will snack in between meals as well. Crackers, cheese sticks, rice cakes.
He loves to eat. If he sees us eating he will whine until we give him some. I'm just concerned that I'm doing more harm than good by giving him that much milk.

How much milk?
i was told up to 24oz of milk is ok per day. DS loves milk, its a struggle to get him to drink anything else. My ped said to mix milk with water if necessary so that he stays below 24 oz a day

Re: How much milk?
At a year my son only had a bottle when he woke up and when he went to sleep. No more than 14oz per day. He preferred food.

Re: How much milk?
My dd was never really a milk drinker, but she was down to 2 bottles/day by 11 months, and off bottles completely by 13 mos. max. She gets her milk from cheese and yogurt mostly.

Re: How much milk?
My 1 year old drinks about the same as yours - and his meals include carbs, protein, etc. on top of fruits and veggies, the kid is just obsessed w/ milk. There's days he only has 2-3 bottles and others he will have up to 4. I'm kind of just going with it because there's no weight issues, he's healthy and happy and eating well for breakfast, lunch dinner and having light snacks in between.

Re: How much milk?
DS is turning one in a few days. The Dr just told me only 16 oz of milk per day. Some days DS wants more then that and then some days I can't get him to drink milk for anything. DS is very tall and lean so I see nothing wrong with him drinking more but I wonder why the recommendations vary so much between doctors.

How much milk?
Our Ped has always said 16-24 oz. DD just turned 1 and takes between 12-22 oz/ day.
8 oz in the am 6 oz in afternoon (sometimes--if we are out and about I don't pack milk) 8 oz at bedtime
She loves food. Eats a varied diet. Drinks water from her straw cup throughout the day. I plan on giving up bottles soon like I did with DD1. I don't think she's that attached.
