Costco
Does anyone know if Costco does a one-day guest pass?
We belong to BJ's and they only have a comforter set at Costco that we really like. I'd hate to join JUST for a bed set.

They don't really do it like that - the whole "one day pass" thing.
What they do instead is "guarantee" the membership.
Meaning, sign up for basic, pay fifty bucks, shop til you drop, and cancel at ANY time and get a full refund no questions asked.
So, that's what you do.
It's an annual membership and you could shop for 364 days and cancel on the last day and be like, I didn't like it, and they'll give you your money back. That's just how they roll 
So, it's up to you but that's the option -- at least you are guaranteed you'll get what you put in back in terms of the $50 membership fee. You could cancel the day of sign up or you could wait the whole dang year and cancel - doesn't matter.

They're getting rid of Amex. The contract expired and they're not renewing. There goes our Costco Amex card that we get a hug fat check back at the end of the year.

Their new contract is going to be with Visa. They'll be offering a Costco Visa, just like the Costco Amex they have now.
