Gas issues with newborn?

Anyone have any tips to help a newborn with gas issues? Any specific bottles that worked well for you child? We are using DR Brown's bottles and are now on alimentum for a few days, but not much of a relief yet. Tried mylicon for a few days and it doesn't seem to help. She is in so much pain sometimes she can barely take down a bottle, very fussy and screaming.

maybe try gripe water? If it continues you can ask your ped... I had this issue with both of my kids and both ended up on similac alimentum.

i would try gripe water
Are you breast feeding or formula feeding? if you are breast feeding, it could be am ilk protein allergy. If you are bottle feeding it could be the formula or even the bottle.
def speak to your ped. Mine had us giving our LO mylanta which helped a bit

Re: Gas issues with newborn?

Gripe water is more for a upset belly but you could try it

I would do bike kicks and baby yoga and burp every oz

We also did drops before and after bottle

It also could be the actual
Bottle

Formula change can take a week to see a change. Keep at it with the alimentum.

agree with above poster, it takes a week before you will really see a difference. I used Playtex Drop Ins and LOVED them. They were a life saver for my dd. Dr Browns did not work at all for us. They made her WAY more gassy.

I continued with the drops anyway. I burped after every once.

Both my kids had it. Gas drops didn't really work. We used dr browns bottles and gentlease formula. The gentlease was amazing

Is she having BMs? If not she could be constipated. I give DS prune juice if he goes more than 36 hours without one.

We are using Playtex Drop-Ins and they are great. We've used the gas drops from time to time from Little Tummy's. They seem to work sometimes....especially when she was really tiny.

With my DS, we are currently using Born Free bottles and MAM bottles that I got as samples somewhere. I used Mylecon drops mid-feeding. I would also stop and burp him more frequently. After feeding, I lay him on me and I lean back so there is pressure on his belly. I have heard that helps.

This along with Playtex Drop Ins. The soothe drops are pricey $30 but the product really works! I even buy two bottles at a time so that i always have it on hand. I would highly recommend!

Re: Gas issues with newborn?

My twins had the same issues. I felt like Dr. Browns caused MORE gas so i switched to Avent and they've been using it ever since. We also switched formlas 2 times. Started on Similac advanced, to sensitive to Gerber goodstart gentle.
We also use Mylecon IN the bottle on bad days and do bicycle kicks. Burp after every oz taken.
