Headaches normal?
DS is 6 years old. Never complained about a headache before, but this morning he kept telling me his head hurts. Started at 5AM when he woke up and called for me. He said he had a bad dream so I sat with him a bit then left. No fever or anything. He was restless so a while of hearing him not sleeping I let him come in my room around 6AM. I let him play on the IPad so I can rest and a few mins after he said he didn't want to and his head and belly hurt, but needed more sleep. He napped for about 45 mins or so then woke up and said he was feeling better. Breakfast he was a bit lethargic, but ate. Still said his head hurt so I gave him Children's Advil. He seemed better the rest of the day, but a bit more tired than usual. I also think we've been really busy a lot this summer and especially this past week we've been home late every night since camp is over and we've had plans. Anyway, about an hour ago he was laying on the couch again and said his head hurts again and he has a little belly ache.
Starting to get concerned bc this isn't like him at all. He's been sick before, but it's been a while and he's usually the one with a lot of energy. He's not a complainer either. No fever and nothing happened recently that he got hurt that I can think of. I know his brother hit him the other day on the head, but they fight on and off and really not the most aggressive when they fight. There was nothing that had me concerned until now. Any advise? Sorry so long, but this is a new thing for me.
**Update** Thanks for the responses. Took him to the doctors and it's his allergies. She did do a strep test and it came back negative. He already has prescription meds for his allergies, but I usually do it in the Spring. SHe said to start it now bc it's been really bad. With his prescription meds and using the nasal spray he'll be fine.

Headaches normal?
Every time my son gets strep, literally the only symptom is a headache. Maybe it's something like that? Hope he feels better!

Oh no. I hope it isn't. How else do you know? He never had strep and last time he was sick was a quick 24 hour stomach virus in the early Spring.

Re: Headaches normal?
Could he be dehydrated? It has been very hot. The last time my son was dehydrated, he had head pain and a belly ache.

Does he play the ipad often? Aside from dehydration, my other thought was eye strain from too much screen time, which can cause a headache.

Re: Headaches normal?
Thanks everyone. Going to take him to the doctors today bc he still says he has a headache and belly ache. Hasn't looked at the Ipad all day yesterday.
He's been really thirsty so maybe it is dehydration. He got a good night sleep, but still not feeling 100% and not eating much. I have been giving him water to drink.
