NCL Breakaway

We just had a very successful disney cruise with our kids and are now thinking of taking the Breakaway to Bermuda in the Spring.

My DDs will be 4 and 6.

Anyone have any feedback on the breakaway and how much there is to do with kids?

Hows the kids club?

My main concern is that if we go over my daughters school break in April we will have a few chilly sea days, and on the Disney cruise they lived in the pools. I'm thinking it'll be too cold for that.

Thanks in advance!!

We went over winter break (February) and though it was chilly we definitely didn't feel like we missed out that much.

My DC was 7 and loved the kid's club.

I will say, since it sailed from NYC on a school holiday out of the 4000 passengers on the ship, 1800 were kids.Chat Icon

we did it december 2013, with DS who was 3 at the time. you can probably find some of my other posts about it LOL
but it was great!! the first day was chilly, so we didn't use the pool... but after that it was good. they had 2 or 3 water slides, kid's splash area, mini golf, and even a mini ropes course for the little ones (it was barely off the ground LOL but DS got a kick out of wearing the harness and all that). we liked the dining, too... there were i think 3 or 4 restaurants you could eat at that were included, plus the buffet. (one of the restaurants was an irish pub, so it was cool to have that as an included option for something different). it was definitely crowded ( it holds like 4000 passengers) but wasn't too bad. the ship itself was nice and clean and beautiful! I went on the Breakaway in August LY so I can't talk to the weather but my kids were the same age as yours and they loved it. The kids club was awesome. Though my 4 year old would only go with the 6 year but that is just because he is shy. My 6 year wanted to go all the time to the kids club. She loved it. When my 4 year didn't go to the kids club I had an umbrella stroller which was a life saver because at night he would fall asleep and went everywhere with us so my DH and I could enjoy ourselves. They even let us bring him into a comedy show since he was dead asleep! There is so much to do on the boat so you definitely won't be bored. GL planning!

We did the NCL Breakaway cruise in late June last year.

It was great... restaurants were great, kids had lots of activities (even without the kids club). Shows were great. I liked it better than the Disney cruise.

I have heard from friends who did it over spring break that the weather in Bermuda was not really beach weather.

This is true- Bermuda weather is like Carolina weather... it's not really beach weather in April.
Their season is more May-Oct

We went in February and it was to Port Canveral and the Bahamas, is it definitely Bermuda in April?

Re: NCL Breakaway

Thanks everyone.

I thought April was Bermuda but I could be wrong. I just looked quickly for pricing. I was hoping to line this up with school break.

I'm glad everyone had positive feedback.

I just came off the Breakaway earlier this Summer (Took the May 31st sailing)
FM me with any questions. I brought my two kids - ages 7 & 4

Just an FYI, I'm pretty sure the Breakaway will be sailing to the Bahamas during Spring Break. It doesn't sail to Bermuda until the last week of April, and at that time, its still a bit chilly if your looking for a beach spot.

We are going on 9/27 and I can't wait. We were in Bermuda a few years ago at the end of April and it was chilly there.

The End of April is spring break for many this year. It will be too cold to swim. May is still a bit cool water temps. Air temps might be ok. But as mentioned above it is more like North Carolina weather than say Florida keys.
