Learning Utensils and Cups
Can you please recommend your learning utensils (brand) for a 15 month old? Also, what kind of "cup" did you start with? I heard there is a cup that they can suck/bite on and the water/drink comes out. Anyone know what I am talking about?

My DS is 15 months old and he uses the gerber nuk utensils. He can usually spear/stab things with the fork a couple of times during his meal.
For cups, I am still just using various straw cups.

I don't know the brand but it has a plastic handle and metal fork/spoon. We tried the full plastic ones but they wouldn't spear the food.
For cups we use the munchkin 360 and zoli weighted straw cup.

Gerber nuk utensils or the zak character ones (target).
For learning with an open cup, I think that just practice with small clear plastic cups work best.

We started out ds with the sippy cup at about 8 months. We use the born free, it's a hard top but he gets it. We also have the nuby ones which is more like a nipple, but he bites it and it leaks a lot comparatively.

Dd has a cup made by sassy that she can suck all around the top- It is ok- it really doesn't teacher the proper way to use a cup- I bought small plastic cups that she uses at home- on the go we use a straw cup (nuby brand) or a plastic water bottle- it is a sports style my sister got from dollar tree-dd is obsessed with the sports bottles since they have Sesame Street characters on them. Dd has a small fork with a plastic handle and metal tines-I am not sure of the brand-sometimes she uses a salad fork from our silverware-my dd is 17 months old.

I like the replay brand utensils. They are all plastic and made from recycled materials. I also like their plates. Birth my girls did great with the camelback straw cups from a young age.

My 15 month old uses the playtex straw cups, but he likes his brother and my camel bak water bottle the best LOL
I have gerber forks that I started using to get him to do it. He still has trouble stabbing the food though!
