Traveling in city with baby and using a taxi?
Forgive me for what might be a silly question, but how does one take a taxi in the city with a baby? DD is 3 months and we are going into the city on Friday to meet DH for lunch since he gets off work early on Fridays in the summer. We are taking the LIRR in and while we could take a subway to his office, I feel like a taxi would be easier considering the stroller and that it will just be me going in (he'll be coming home with us). Lugging her carseat is not an option -- it seems like it would be illegal to just hold the baby on your lap in the taxi. How do I do this?!?!

It's actually legal to not use a car seat in a taxi but obviously safer.

I think Uber has cars with car seats. It's $10 extra but worth it IMO. Just download the app to your phone and you can request the car when you're pulling into Penn.
ETA: I'd leave extra time for the uber w car seat so maybe request it when you're in LIC.

Do you have the carrier and stroller? The baby carrier can be used with car seat belts and no base is needed. I would not feel safe carrying my 3 month old in any moving car.

It's not illegal but it's obviously not safe...and I personally wouldn't risk it for a lunch date. Like pp said I'd get an Uber with carseat it just take the subway.
But if you're using the stroller why can't you just snap the car seat in??
