Car seat rental - NYC
Has anyone (or your OOT guests) used a car seat rental place on NYC?
I found a few of them but I am curious if anyone can recommend one from their own experience.
My niece is coming up in a few weeks ( ) and my sister can't take her car seat with her when she travels up here. She's 3 1/2 years old.
And then once we get it, do I just go to a firehouse so they can help me install it? How does that all work?

I would sooner buy an inexpensive one, like the Cosco scenery seats. They're only like $30/$40.

Are you a AAA member? They rent them free at all the AAA Stores- there is one in Lincoln Center Car Seat Rentals

You install it yourself and then get it inspected. They may take the whole thing out and start over. Not all fire houses have a licensed technician though.
Use this link to find out where you can take it.

It may end up being cheaper to buy! And safer
If she's under 50lbs and 50 inches, check out the evenflo maestro - about $80.

Yeah I looked up some car seat threads on here and didn't realize all of the standards and such. I'm just the cool aunt, lol...no idea about all this stuff! Glad I got the info. I'll run that model by my sister. Thank you soooooo much!!!

I would just get the Cosco Scenera for like $40 from Walmart.com or the store.

At 3.5, she may have already outgrown it. But the Cisco scenera next is a great option if she's within the limits.

Re: Car seat rental - NYC
What are the dates of the trip?
DS has outgrown the seat my mom has for him and it's coming out of her car in the next couple of weeks. If the dates match and you can come get it, you are welcome to it.
