It was great: but remember: it is during rainy season... so don't book til last minute (day before).
My fav way to do the park.

I think I will wait until at least the week of to buy the tickets. DH doesn't even want to go to Disney and if I buy tickets for a rainy day, I will never hear the end of it. lol

I always buy tickets in advance. The party sells out. I've had a great time each and every time I went. This year will be no exception.

Has it ever rained on the day you bought tickets for?
We are shooting for the party on Friday, October 9.

Yup definitely buy tickets, especially since you are going a holiday weekend. We went last year in September (Jewish Holiday weekend) and it was sold out. It also rained A LOT! So the last 2 hours of the party were a washout. The party earlier in the week before ours was also a wash out (and they allowed those people to reschedule for our party date).

Do you know if refunds are available if it is a washout?
I thought party was rain or shine. We are only going for 4 days and the party is only on Fri and Mon. We fly back on Mon at 7:00pm so we would not be able to go on another date.

No refunds. I think it was a courtesy to the guests earlier in the week since it rained a ton from what I read. Pack ponchos.....the attractions still go on.

We went the night it poured that week - it was a monsoon. We heard others were rebooking but, it would have been on our last night so we decided to stick it out.
DH still isn't letting me hear the end of it...
Buy Ponchos in advance - we bought some outside of the parks and they were awful. The ones in the park are nice but $$$.

I have ponchos from our last trip to Disney. Thankfully we did not need them.
If we go when it pours, I will never hear the end of it from DH. He told me to just buy the tickets.
Can we get a discounted price on these anywhere?

No, it hasn't and that is the week we go because our wedding anniversary is October 8.

Tickets are discounted for DVC members and annual passholders. I haven't seen them discounted other than that.

Re: Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween
Gone twice & got tickets the night before both times. Event never sold out... But it wasn't a school holiday. Went last week of Sept into 1st week of October both times. Def rainy season.
It poured to the point of closing rides last time. Horrible, torrential rain. Streets were filled with water. We did ponchos (forecast had rain), No refunds. We had fun anyway... But you had to really go with the flow.
