gift ideas - - for myself..LOL
I don't know why I am having such an issue with this LOL. 2 family members asked me what I would like for my upcoming birthday AND I cant seem to come up with anything LOL. How things change --my 9 year old can make never ending lists and I cant think of a few ideas of something I would like. LOL
what would you like for your birthday??

I'm fairly simple and tend to appreciate things like gift cards to my fave stores.
DH has also gotten me a giftcard to go for a haircut at my fave salon.
We also don't turn down giftcards to our fave restaurant for a night out!
Honestly, if I want something I usually go buy it so I'm not that easy to shop for.

my birthday is next month and my sister was just asking me what i would like...
a few things i mentioned were
wine glasses
a travel mug
gift card for a local restaurant
candles
....pretty simple things but all things i would enjoy/need.

New pillow
Wall art
Picture frames
Besides that:
Gift cards to my favorite stores
Tickets to a play
Massage or spa day
My mom got DH a gift certificate to Molly Maid for his birthday and he LOVED it...I did too!

I agree with gift cards - I love to get gift cards to restaurants, spas (for massages), mani-pedi places, clothing stores, DSW. I love the Marshall's/TJ Maxx/Home Goods gift cards. Guilt free shopping for me! I also like Barnes & Nobles gift cards -- I read a lot and have the Nook and Nook app for my ipad. DH and I are also wine drinkers so we get wine as gifts a lot, as well as Stew Leonard's wine store gift cards.
Sometimes, if I know the budget of the giver, I pick out a few very specific items, which actually makes the life of the giver easy! So for example, we do a Kris Kringle/grab bag every year at Christmas with my DH's extended family, and it's a $100 budget. So in recent years I asked for perfume gift sets, Ralph Lauren rain boots, a certain hand bag, a specific watch, etc. I try to pick something that I know I will want and use, but something "unnecessary" -- more of a luxury item -- that I might not buy for myself and that will feel like a treat.
