Kid Friendly Hair Cuts

2 year old boy...

He's been getting hair cuts since he's 8 months old. It was NEVER an issue until recently. We have NO idea what happened. We've taken him to a salon, hysterical. We've had one of our friends come in and cut his hair in our home, hysterical.

He needs his hair cut. We are in the Port Jeff area. Any advice? Please...?

I don't have any recommendations... but DS is the same way. I took him to a kid friendly one in Queens and it was no help at all. I literally had to hold him down while he screamed like his ears were getting cut off. I havent taken him since lol.

I just bring lollipops for distraction. One in each hand usually does it!

We take DS to Zippity Doo's in Merrick. There are 2 other locations too. He sits in a car and picks a DVD (always Elmo) and they put it on a little tv right in front of him. He does great there. We keep saying we should take him someplace cheaper, but we are afraid to ruin a good thing!

We take DS to Kids Cut in Centereach. It would be cheaper to go to a regular salon, and we did once but it was a disaster. To me it's worth the extra couple of bucks for a more pleasant experience. GL!

Same as above. There are more in Nassau County but this is one we use that is closer.

Re: Kid Friendly Hair Cuts

We just took DS to this place, Snip-Its in East Northport for his first haircut (he'll be 2 in 2 weeks.) He did great and they were really nice. I was afraid he'd freak out since he doesn't like me brushing his hair (he had the most beautiful curls but they were getting knotty - it was kind of longChat Icon ) but they gave him an ipad to hold and watch a video and he was fine.
They had a "Prize machine" too which was cute. They even let his big brother get one because he was so good waiting.
Their Facebook page had some coupons.

Too funny we just went there yesterday for my 14 month old son's first hair cut. There was NO wait, and the girl put on Mickey Mouse clubhouse for him to watch on their iPad.
They also had cookies for the kids (we had our own Cheerios) and at the end a prize machine (that my DS cried over bc it was loud LOL). It was very cute and she was fast and did a nice job. He looks adorable now. I had a coupon FYI
