4th of July vent that only parents will understand
First, Happy 4th of July!
I hope everyone had fun today. If you saw a fireworks show, I'm sure if was beautiful and fun to watch. We watched it on tv.
But, it is now 10:30 pm, my kids are sleeping. And I pray they continue to sleep thru the mortars that are going off up the block from me. I know in my neighborhood I am going to be hearing fireworks until 3 in the morning and with each one I am going to look at the baby monitor and pray the kids don't wake up. Obviously these people don't have sleeping children at home.
I am all for watching some nice fireworks, but enough is enough.

These are the kind of nights we close the windows and run the AC in his room. But even on the random nights they've gone off at 2:30 and woken ME up, he sleeps right through.

Some genius by U.S. Thought it would be fun to START shooting them off at 1:45am and go until around 3 am or so. While I am not happy about the people who shoot them off at 10 or 11 at least that is not in the middle of the night.

It doesn't really bother me I guess because my daughter never had a problem sleeping through them. When I went to bed last night, fireworks were still going off all around the house and I fell asleep very quickly.

I found it very annoying as well. By 11pm I think enough is enough, the people behind our street were setting them off, it was like tiny explosions every single time. Totally unnecessary by 11pm imo.

They were going off about 50 feet from my house and exposing right over us... Luckily Hailey and Jessie slept right thru it.

Or dog owners. I debated calling the police. I understand it is the fourth of July but it's still illegal. And it was excessive. I saw who it was last night when I took my out to pee. They were cleaning up this morning. However, they only cleaned up in front of their house and not across the street or the shell thats landed in the park across from their house. That got me angry to see the mess. Totally disrespectful. Rant over.

I had to resist the urge to go outside and tell them to knock it off! My husband was annoyed, but I figured its fourth of july, it's to be expected.
