tell me anything and everything about Lake George

Thinking of booking a few nights for my kids (5 and 1.5), my mom and I.
I have no clue what area to even look in. Something with things to do for kids.
Any information would be appreciated including hotels, restaurants and fun ideas. Thanks! :)

We don't have kids but i've been up there a few times including last year. You don't have to worry about activities for the kids, there are tons!

Motel: we stayed at America's best value inn. Newly renovated and has lots to do right on site: indoor and outdoor pools, playground, jacuzzi. There are a lot of different options as far as accomodations. Check tripadvisor.

You'll find a lot of the motels up there are run down. They are all generally in walking distance to the 'downtown' where all the arcades, shops and restaurants are. There are a few mini golf courses.

We did the ghost tour at Fort William Henry that was cool but maybe not with kids at night. The Fort is great to see though anyway.

There's a myriad of water sports on the lake which is cold.

Best breakfast for us is a little drive away to the Lone Bull Pancake and steak house. Menu is insane and everything is good. Beware to wait.

There are a few Lake George hotels on Groupon this week. Fort William Henry and Best Western I just saw yesterday.

I don't know much since I have never been but we are going this weekend. I found a great package at Surfside on the Lake. It looks quaint and fun. I will let you know how it goes.
