How would you deal with this?
So I have a friend who sells everything under the sun and is a consultant for numerous companies -- Tastefully Simple, Scentsy, Stella & Dot Jewelry, etc. We were very close friends a few years ago and have since drifted but are often at group gatherings together because we have the same circle of friends. The problem is that she invites me to these parties ALL THE TIME. I have no desire to go. Even if you don't expect me to buy something and you say I should just come to hang out and have a drink, I don't want to go. I have too much stuff to do in my life that when I get an hour or two free, going to your parties is not at the top of my list -- its not even on my list. I've tried politely declining, I've made excuses, etc. I thought she'd get the hint but she keeps asking/inviting. What do I do now? Lay down the hard truth in a very blunt way? "Listen, it's very nice that you think to include me in your events, but I don't want to go and would appreciate if you stopped asking me." HELP!

just dont go. you dont have to explain yourself to anyone. If you declined once already then she should get the hint. she MUST get the hint but is being pushy and obnoxious anyway.....just like the rest of these pyramid scheme aholes

Are they invites in person or online? If they are online invites, I would just keep declining - as annoying as it is, it seems like she is just not getting the "hint." If she is asking you in person, each time she asks, I would just say something like, "sorry, my schedule is packed. As I've told you before, I just don't have time for these things." Don't feel bad about declining. Just do so, matter of factly. No need to make excuses or explain yourself.

I would just continue RSVPing no. I wouldn't be upset about the invites, especially if you still are on friendly terms. I feel like if you ask her to stop inviting you, you run the risk of ruining the friendship, but that's just me.

Re: How would you deal with this?
I would just ignore the invites. Honestly, I think most GOOD d/s people know this comes with the territory.

Just don't go, btw usually with direct sals you are only allowed to do one company so she's likely in violation of the policies & procedures, just sayin!
