We loved Port Orleans. We stayed at both Riverside and French Quarter. Coronado Springs is very nice too.

We have stayed at Port Orleans Riverside and Coronado Springs, too. Both are nice but we liked Port Orleans better. More small pool choices and the room was bigger than Coronado Springs. There is also a nice boat ride to Downtown Disney from Port Orleans, only a bus from the other.

Port Orleans Riverside and Caribbean Beach are both excellent. I probably prefer Port Orleans because it's a little smaller and I think the food court is better.

WDW moderate hotel
We stayed at Port Orleans Riverside in April and liked it. Small, quaint resort. Nice rooms. One bus stop, unlike the other moderates (they have many internal bus stops, thus adding more time to your travel to the parks). We took a horse and carriage ride that we walked down to Port Orleans Riverside to get to. After seeing how large that resort is, and how spread out it all is, I wouldn't want to stay there.

Re: WDW moderate hotel
Port Orleans riverside, French quarter felt motelish to us and my parents weren't loving it either. While definitely a smaller resort my kids weren't interested in the pool (fun pool but the slide they thought was more babyish) and overall the feel was just eh. I recommend you go to portorleams.org and check out the sister resorts and see what appeals to you more. You can use the facilities at both resorts but would be a pain to go to the other if you don't have to. Both have a boat to DTD.
We did preferred view last trip and royal room the first time at that resort. Those groups are closer to the main building. I would go with preferred view because you are right near the main building. We were right next to the food court, 2 mins to the bus, and 3 mins or so to the pool. Very close. I think the food court is better at riverside than FQ. The other moderates (have stayed at Carribean beach) was really spread out and didn't love it. Coronado springs is nice but a convention hotel and a lot of business people stay there.
