Diagnosing Asthma?
If your LO has asthma, how was it diagnosed? Whay symptoms/problems did your LO have? How long did it take to diagnose?
My LO is under 5 and I know they really don't like to diagnose asthma at such a young age. We are just confused if it is LOs allergies or exercise or a combo that is causing breathing issues.
What confirmed your LOs asthma diagnosis?
Sorry if I sound confusing! But I am confused!! LOL! I don't want LO on all this medicine if it's not necessary!

Diagnosing Asthma?
We had several issues with RSV and respiratory illnesses. Pediatric pulmonologist couldn't diagnose officially before age 2, but did after. Treatment before and after diagnosis didnt change. The diagnosis was just a label.
My DS was constantly getting respiratory illness with distress requiring nebulizer and/or prednisone. He also coughed a lot... All day and worse at night.
The added a daily (and not one of the typical that are often accompanied with behavior changes)and the Albuterol and then weaned off the albuterol to just the daily. The daily made a HUGE difference for my son.
We are in process of seeing if we stop the daily now that it's spring and cold season has ended if symptoms come back. If they do we know they are partly allergy based. Then we go back on daily.
