Feeding Young Toddlers Meat
This may be an odd question but I find that often times I give my one year old meat as part of her lunch meal nd also her dinner meal and I feel like that is too much meat? I am far from a vegetarian and neither are my girls but I just feel like its too much? .. any ideas for what to replace the meat with during one of the meals? I feel like if I give just a veggie/fruit at this age it will not be filling enough.

I only do meat/fish once a day at most. I do beans, lentils, eggs at other meals as a protein source.

I don't think 2 meals with meat is too much. Some days DS eats meat twice a day and I never gave it a second thought. He barely eats meat so any chance I can sneak it in, I do!

You can use eggs, beans or hummus, peanut butter, cheese or yogurt. those are good replacement meals for meat. In general, all Americans eat too much meat. I would def. swap out the animal protein for some of the other options once in awhile.

We try to do twice. If we have turkey sausage that's 3. It's protein so it's not bad as part of a balanced meal.

This is what I do. DD rarely eats meat.
