Triple X chromosome...
Has anyone had this come up with the MaterniT 21 test or an amnio? Anyone have a child with it? This has recently come up with a friend and am looking for more info.

Triple X chromosome...
I did the verifi test and ours came back normal, but it was explained to us during the consultation that if a third X chromosome is present in a female they will be more inclined to have a learning disability or delayed development (motor, speech).
Best to speak with a genetic counselor.

Yes, there is a little boy at my son's preschool with this and the school just did a fundraiser for the foundation. They are doing amazing things!!!!!

XXX is a girl.
I have a family friend who has it...
She is TOTALLY normal.
She's just having kids ASAP as she is at increased risk for premature ovarian failure.
Best info for your friend will come from a genetic counsel.

XXX results in a NORMAL girl. The 2 additional Xs serve as nonfunctional Barr bodies.

You must be thinking of something different. XXX is only found in females. Most symptoms are adrenal related. May go through puberty earlier. There has also been a link between XXX and aggressive/antisocial behavior. There is a suggested correlation between XXX and language and auditory processing delays.
Many go undetected and have no characteristics that appear out of the ordinary.
You might be thinking about XYY, which is similar, but in males only.
