Can someone recommend one (asking for a friend)? Preferably in the Nassau County area because my friend lives in Lynbrook. She is dealing with some "mommy" issues and would like some help. Thanks so much!

I'm so glad you posted this, I was trying to get up the nerve to ask - yes another mommy/mommy to be for the second time here who could use to talk it out with a professional if anyone has recommendations!!

I am a school psychologist in a district near lynbrook. Most of the recs I have are for therapists who work with children, but I do know Shelley Schwartz (Rockville centre) and Marjorie mayerson (Hewlett) (both social workers) work with adults. Both are very nice.

Nassau County Psych Association has a website that lists psychologists in certain areas and their areas of interest , insurance etc

Lani Mcelgen - Garden City (Franklin Ave )
She is a social worker though... Great if your friend needs someone to just talk to. Her specialty deals with Family issues. She also has flexible hours.
