Can anyone rec a psychiatrist or psychologist?
Whats the difference between the 2? I think one knows more about meds right?

A psychiatrist is a doctor and can prescribe meds, a psychologist can not. Are you looking for a child psychologist/psychiatrist, or for an adult?

A psychiatrist basically just prescribes drugs and a psychologist does therapy but cannot prescribe drugs.

But my PCP told me that you can always see a psychologist and ask you regular PCP to prescribe drugs for you.

Its for a friend-her insurance doesnt really have many psychologists, mostly therapists, she found one though-basic anxiety etc....thanks
