1st Birthday party favor
I know its been asked before, but any suggestions for a 1st bday party favor. The theme for ds party is monsters. I know edible is a big hit, and I might go that route, but I'm looking for other options. It is mostly adults and like 8 kids.
My dd's birthday is in December and for her first I ordered little christmas/cupcake ornaments and wrote her name and the date on the back with paint pen.
Looking for another inexpensive but cute option for a May baby. The party will be outside.

1st Birthday party favor
I did a monster theme first birthday for DS1! There are SO many cute idea on Pinterest. For favors, I gave out goodie bags from oriental trading (with monsters on them) and put bags of goldfish (with googly eyes glued to them), playdoh (again with eyes...), and some monster stickers. I also had large lollipops with monster eyes as centerpieces and had an "adopt a monster" station with little monster dolls (that I sewed). I taped eyes to the balloons, party hats, and everything else I could think of! I also made Oreos dipped in chocolate with eyes on them - those were easy and a huge hit!
Eta- I did chocolate bars wrapped for adults and gave goodie bags to little kids. We had 10 kids. Adults generally don't need favors, but for a box of chocolate bars from BJs, printer paper, and some effort, it's worth it to do.

Re: 1st Birthday party favor
As an adult, I do not need a favor from a childs birthday party. Something edible is fine if you insist, but its really not necessary.
Just get some kind of monster toy for the kids.

ITA!
I've stopped with favors altogether... It's refreshing!
I put a little extra into the party!

1st Birthday party favor
I do favors and i appreciate them as long as its practical. I personally always do a favor. Ive never been to a party where they dont give them out...
Maybe do an art bag with monster coloring books, crayons and stickers, fun shaped paper, pipe cleaners... stuff like that or A monster beach towel or A monster cupcake or cookies
Honestly the oriental trading or 99 cent store toys go in the trash. Like i said id prefer something a lil more practical or something she can play with.

Completely agree. I just got favors for the kids. The party was Sesame Street themed and I found Elmo goodie bags w/ coloring books and crayons on Amazon. I added a couple of more things.

Re: 1st Birthday party favor
I'm doing the same theme for Ds first bday also in May. I'm doing a monster beach ball, monster tattoos/stickers and I was trying to find an inexpensive monster book (but having no luck).

Re: 1st Birthday party favor
Because of this post, I realized I needed to get myself in gear :) I ordered most of my favors today :)
I did books that had to do with a "monster theme" (the monster at the end of the book, go away big green monster, etc). I also ordered monster beach balls, monster stickers, monster tattoos, monster pencils, and I am making monster bubbles :) That should be plenty!
ETS: I am making chocolate covered oreo or pretzel monsters for adults.

This exactly I like one practical favor that is useful. The cheap, small stuff gets played with for about 5 mins then gets tossed. The edible stuff I say they can have for dessert. For favors I have done - water shooter for a superhero theme kid hooded beach towels for a pool party (Sesame St) yellow shovel and pails with a Minion face I put on and it in was a Despicable Me book I ordered online and sidewalk chalk personalized shovel and pails with construction hats

Re: 1st Birthday party favor
We only give favors to the kids, never the adults. I don't go to a kids birthday party and expect to take a favor home.
