If you've lost a parent, but have in laws...
I lost my mom 3 years ago ( have no dad). DS was 6 months old.my in laws live in CA and I have never met them. I get it that the relationship is weird to begin with but when they call they don't even ask about DS. It upsets me to no end because my mom was so looking forward to him being born and is missing everything. And they seem to not care at all. So many times I have wanted to pick up the phone and ask mom a question and when it his me that I can't I'm always devastated.
For some reason this posted a lot.
