Repost - Bomb Threat
Any schools ever have a bomb threat? Just got a VM from my DS's ELC (it's preschool and kindergarten for the town) that there was a bomb threat and they bussed the kids to the Middle School. DS is in the PM class so wasn't at school. He's actually at his kindergarten enrichment class now. So scary! I don't know what to do for the afternoon now. My friend is debating on sending her DS. I heard from a PTO board member they checked the entire school with dogs and all and everything is safe so sending the AM and full day kids back to the school.

Re: Repost - Bomb Threat
This is just my opinion but I feel like if someone really wanted to bomb something, they wouldn't give a tip off so they can clear the area out and find the bomb.
I never understood bomb threats.
I can understand finding a suspicious package and clearing an area out, but not when someone calls and says, Hey, there is a bomb in such and such location. FYI
Kind of defeats the purpose no?

Repost - Bomb Threat
guns not bombs but yes
I think I posted about it.. it was a big deal. Some kid posted an elementary school would be targeted and parents would be sad. The whole nine yards. It was give a date an all.
Most parents wanted to or did keep their kids home. I did not, I sent AJ in. The school was on lock down and very very safe.
Ironically the day went unaffected but two days later when everyone was lax a kid unrelated to the first threat brought in 3 guns to a high school.
They found the punk from the first threat. It was around the time the FBI was in hot water for spying on Germany's emails. We kept saying "you can tell us what they had for lunch in Moscow but can't find this one punk kid here on US soil?"
We did have a 'bomb threat' called in but they only did lock down and a check. It was cleared. They sent us an email. That bomb threat again was not for our school. Basically ANY threat against ANY School in the ENTIRE city REGARDLESS of district is treated as if its in our own school and they shut it down and check it out. I am perfectly fine with that.

Repost - Bomb Threat
I had a fellow student in HSbbuild and plant a bomb in my high school. We were evacuated for hours but then went back and just had added security for the rest of the school year... It was during finals.

I teach in a HS and this happens more often than people would imagine. Usually it's a note dropped or something written on a bathroom wall. So they can't trace anything. It's a huge deal every time.. they evacuate and search the building.
