Tips for using a nebulizer with a baby?
Our daughter is 10 months old and she has had a nebulizer for a few months, which we've had to use occasionally. She is not a fan, and to calm her down, we usually put on a little kids video or something on TV. But we just found out yesterday that she is going to need daily meds through the nebulizer for at least a few months. We don't want her watching that much TV. Anyone have tips or advice for getting through nebulizer treatments with a baby who hates it?

Is she a pacifier baby? They have pacifier attachments, that might help. I always just made up silly songs or would introduce a new toy. I also found doing it in the high chair helped.... he couldn't get away!  good luck. Also, you don't have to pit the mask over their face. Just wave in front of her mouth and nose, she will still get enough in.

Tips for using a nebulizer with a baby?
If the tv works, I'd stick with that. DS needed the nebulizer 2-3 times a day for a month or so when he was around 6 months old. He hated it. I would sing to him for the 5-10 minutes it was on and that helped a bit, but I still had to hold it over his face and fight him on it. If he would've watched tv to distract him, I would have done that. Then again, I don't see the big deal in a little tv.
Sorry if it's not what you want to hear, but if a distraction works, take it because there are plenty of people who probably wish that tv would work just to get through a treatment.

I've never had to use it, but my coworkers plays with her son under a blanket as the nebulizer is on to create a little tent.

I always use the TV. It works and it's for like 5m. Better than a hysterical child who learns to associate the nebulizer with negativity. Now at 2.5 de hold it herself and breathes while watching a show. She even turns it on herself.

Honestly, if the tv keeps her calm during the treatments, just let her watch tv. I see no harm in that.
When my DD was that age and we had to do nebulizer treatments we'd hold the mask right in front of her face (she wouldn't always wear it) and she too would watch a show on tv to keep her distracted and sitting still the whole time. Worked like a charm.

I have to agree with this. The nebulizer treatment is about 10-12 min. If its 3 times a day, I would just do what I have to do to get through the treatment. Sitting through the treatment is more important and beneficial to your DC health then the tv is detrimental to it. Especially for such small periods of time.
