I basically separated the pics by holiday or milestone. I included the stuff from the hospital, sonogram pics, birth announcement, coming home from the hospital, christmas, valentine's day, daddy's bday, and so on. When I decided the layout, I bought the embellishments that I wanted to go with each page, and kind of took it from there. I did one page each time, so it didn't get too oeverwheming.

Re: Any tips on putting together a baby scrapbook

What I did was start with my baby shower, his nursery being painted and decorated, etc. Then I did the hospital, his birth story, things like that. Now I am just adding milestones as they happen. He is only one month old so not much has happened yet lol. Since you have a whole years worth of pictures, try to seperate them in chronological order and by theme. Also, go to Michael's or AC Moore, they have great scrapbooking supplies. Also, www.dennydavis.net is a GREAT scrapbooking site that has quotes, poems, headings for every kind of scrapbook you can imagine. Can you tell I am very into scrapbooking haha Chat Icon

BTW, your son is so CUTE! Chat Icon I love that pic you have in your avatar.

Re: Any tips on putting together a baby scrapbook

Im in the same boat.. I bought a mini book that is cut out spelling BABY.. im working on that one right now, Then i want to start the big year one. I just ordered all my pictures and waiting for them in mail. Im seperating into the birth, month b-day shots, Holidays, milestones, pictures with me, dh, family shots, and grandparents, aunts, uncles etc.

I figure once i get that done, im going to hunt the scrapbook websites for ideas. My computer is old, so wont be able to do anything super cool.

I hope to organize another scrapbook GTG for LIFers. Once you get started, all your pages just fall into place!

For me the easiest was chronological order by month. I would have gotten too overwhelmed by theme only and there are some pics that are just too cute but didn't fit a theme.

I already have a separate scrapbook for my pregnancyChat Icon I had nothing else to do when out on leave.

I started with the pic I took when I left to be induced.
Pics right after birth w/ birth announcement.
Leaving hospital.
Welcome home.
Meeting family.

Then when I get to a new month, I start a new page with their monthly sign picture and a journal entry of everything I jotted down on the calendar, doctor's visit, milestones, first foods etc.

Then I picked the pics I took from the month... some pages have themes, some don't.

Re: Any tips on putting together a baby scrapbook

I made my cousin's daughter a different kind of baby scrapbook. Instead of going month by month, I used the ABCs. So, for example, the first page said "A is for aunts." Then, I had pictures of the baby and her two aunts. The pictures were not in chronological order, but it was a big hit. I gave it to them on the baby's first birthday... and she LOVES looking at herself. Just an idea...

Have fun!Chat Icon
