DH told a family about our party that wasn't invited. WWYD?
DH took 5yo to a birthday party today. I did not invite this family to DS's party in 2 weeks. DH told them about DS's party.
Should I now invite this family since DH mentioned it to the dad?
Our party was for 16 kids and we have 16 kids. We can add extra kids if we wanted.
DH thinks we should invite this girl as well as another girl whose party we attended last week.

I don't see how you can get out of it now since he already invited them. Not sure about the other girl unless she or her parents know too about the party and was invited.

As of now, I only invited 4 kids from DS's kindergarten class. I wanted to keep the number down to not hurt feelings. We only invited 1 girl who plays with DS and these 3 other boys.
I assumed today's party was a whole class party but DH said only a few kids were invited. Problem is this girl is social and then the other girls would know about DS's party too.
I am overthinking this. We will just invite the 2 girls from the class so then we will invite 6 kids from class.

I have always invited every child to both my children's parties from their class. I never picked one or another as I know they all talk and feelings get hurt.

On the flip side, I have never invited the whole class to any of my kids parties- and I've thrown 7 parties since they have been school aged.

We have also always invited the entire class all through preschool. This is the first year we are not. DS has several friends from preschool that we are inviting as well as some family friends. Kindergarten class sizes are also bigger. We just couldn't invite everyone so I decided to invite only a few.

I have seen kids upset, mine as well when others talk about parties they weren't invited to. Have seen this for 16 years of parties and while you can't invite everyone, it is hard to pick and choose. At that point I would do all boy or all girl parties if I couldn't do all.

Did your dh actually invite the family or just mention the party in passing.
If he invited them then yes if send an invite. If not I wouldn't worry about it.
I don't think there is any need to invite the entire class. My ds isn't friends with everyone in his class and doesn't need to go to every party. I'm actually glad he isn't. That would be way too many parties each year.

I would invite but don't be surprised if they decline bc if it was me I would see it as a "cover" invite

Family is family. If a relative, then yes invite. IF just a friend then they don't have to be invited just because you invited. It's so hard!

I respectfully disagree. I wouldn't invite the majority and leave only a few kids out, but I also don't feel like I need to invite kids that my DS isn't friends with. I'm certainly not setting out to hurt anyone's feelings, but that's life. Not all kids are going to be friends with every kid in class.

Re: DH told a family about our party that wasn't invited. WWYD?
I have a 9 year old and a 5 year old and we have never invited the entire class. I have sent an Evite to my kids parents emails so they weren't being paraded around school. I have also told the kids to keep the chatter low key so they would not hurt anyones feelings and they were always careful to do that. Both kids have come home chatting about a classmates party that they were not invited too and were nonchalant about it as they were not friends with these kids.
To answer your question it depends on what your DH said ..if he just casually mentioned you were having a party then no you dont need to invite if he said " see you guys in a couple of weeks for DC's party" then maybe and if he said " you guys are invited" etc then its a yes for an invite.
