Has anyone been to My Gym??
Any experiences with some of the "My Gym" locations in the area?
I know there's one in Stony Brook, another in Huntington, and quite a few more...
How do you guys like it? What kind of stuff do they have for the kids? Classes? Music? Is it like Gymboree? DS is almost 18 months old.
I signed him up for an intro class - hoping he likes it.
Is it pricey? A membership? Can you do open play?

Intro class is very useful.
I went with Gymboree, but lots of people like my gym more.
To me, Gymboree had more structure & creativity, but that may be due to the site manager.
Prices were comparable for both & after a while ended up around $20 a session. Both have membership and both have free play.

We go to gymboree bc I had an Amazon local deal but DD's birthday party will be at My Gym next weekend and that'll be my first experience there.

We got to the My Gym in Huntington. My 2 year old son loves it. They start with circle time and then do a song and a dance. Then there is free play and then some structured activities. The class ends in circle time again. The teachers at the Huntington location are great

I go to my gym in Huntington too and my 23 month old loves it! I like that you can participate in some structure like circle time, but also just play on your own.
it was $30 initial fee for "lifetime membership" then $98 a month for unlimited classes. they have you pick one "home class" that you're automatically signed up for each week. but then you can sign up for unlimited classes throughout the week as long as there is room.

Has anyone been to My Gym??
Dd goes to Huntington and loves it. There is normally a $60 initiation fee (but that will be waived for you since you're in the Huntington moms group) and then it's $96 every 4 weeks. You sign up for a home class (day and time) and then can sign up for unlimited classes if there is room. It's great bc they have saturday and Sunday classes. A lot of places don't bc they only have parties.
They start with circle time, song and dance, then an adventure with mats and stuff, two diff gymnastics skills, then they hang swings from the ceiling, a quick separation time, puppet show and a goodbye song.

I may have talked that up lol. It's a cute stuffed puppet that they sing a song to lol. Some are better than others. Dd is always mesmerized by them.

I may have talked that up lol. It's a cute stuffed puppet that they sing a song to lol. Some are better than others. Dd is always mesmerized by them.
Even the little duck puppet that I put on my hand to use on him in the bath gets him in stitches so I think he will probably love it either way! LOL!

I am super picky and I really liked it for my DD. We took classes and liked that. Open Play was ok.

Has anyone been to My Gym??
We went to the one in West Babylon for about a year when he was the same age as Julian. DS loved it. I worked at Gymboree for several years, so the activities were a bit different, and Gymboree was much more structured. We had his 2nd birthday party there too and everyone raved about it.

We went to the one in Stony Brook for about 2 years. My DS loved it. I did trials at Gymboree and The Little Gym and just liked My Gym (the facility and people) the best. It probably depends on which locations you are at though. I think the Huntington and Stony Brook location are the same owner.
