need advice

My dd is 2.5 still in her crib. No issues with sleeping. No issues with climbing.
I recently had surgery and cannot lift her. It could be 4-6 weeks before i can. Obviously i have a problem now because i cant lift her out of the crib.

Does anyone have any ideas of any creative ways i can get her out of her crib in the morning? In the evening its no problem my dh is home.

Or do we just convert her bed to a toddler bed? Or full size bed?

Really need advice i need to make a decision by tomorrow morning...

I just feel like if it wasnt for this issue in the morning i wouldnt even think of converting it. Shes otherwise fine in the crib. And i hate that our hands are tied.

Is there any way you can put a step stool or something for her to stand on in the crib so you won't have to life her up so much so you just would have to bear the weight carrying her out and down? (Obviously not leaving stool or whatever leverage you use in the crib). Really at this age it is fine to convert to a toddler bed but I understand wanting to hold off.

Thats a good idea...

I know we would convert her at some point i just feel like if it isnt broke why fix it. My dd is tiny shes totally fine in her crib. If we can save the $ right now then i would like to save the $.

Plus i never planned on the toddler bed i was going to go straight to full size bed but shes just so tiny and that becomes a huge expense.

I would just switch it to a toddler bed. Someone recently mentioned that she took the side off her crib and added a guard meant for a twin so it went the length of the crib and her kids never tried to climb out. I don't know how easily they come off or if any of them flip down but maybe you can do that so she stays in but you can get her in and out easily. I would definitely invest in one of those folding step stools anyway. After my cs we used that a lot so DD could reach to wash her hands or see things I would have lifted her for in the past. I also kept on in the car so she could climb in and out of her seat without me lifting her. She loves that she can carry it all over the house whenever she needs it.

Ditto for the stool. my DD is 2.5 and I am recoveing form a back injury do I can not lift her to change her on the changing table ...not potty trained yet. She get the hint and uses a stool to climb up. I would also introduce her to a a toddler bed concept. She does not ever try to climb out on her own
