Traveling to lancaster, where to stop for lunch on the way?

We are going to lancaster with 2 dds in June, during the week so my thought was to leave around 9 and stop for lunch on the way. Will I avoid rush hour leaving at 9? And does anyone have recs for a place to stop for lunch?

Whether or not you hit rush hour depends on where on LI you are leaving from.

We usually go once a year and leave on a weekday around 9:30 from central Nassau. We usually do fine but with the Belt you never know. If you live further west than central Nassau 9 might be early to avoid rush hour.

There are a few Cracker Barrels along the way. We usually stop at the one at (I believe) exit 7A off the New Jersey tpke. It's right off of 195 just outside Trenton.

We leave on a Monday from mid suffolk. We leave around 930-10 and never hit a ton of traffic- excpet in the usual spots where there is ALWAYS traffic like the Belt pwky

But we find that is a good time to leave

Can't help you on the lunch- we usually get breakfast out before we leave or bring bagels for the ride and drive straight there. (maybe 1 bathroom stop)

We usually get to Eden by 1-1:30 pm or so.
