Mickey not so scary Halloween party
Is it worth going? There will be 4 adults 2 4 year olds and one almost 2 year old. They haven't realesed prices but based on last year I think it would be around $365. That's a lot for one event and before we spend it I want to know if it's a must?

It's pretty fun. I loved it more than the Mickey xmas party.
The parade was amazing ... You get to see characters you don't see often ... It was a blast.

It was fun. We didn't plan for it correctly though.
I didn't realize when we got the tickets that you can enter the park at 4pm the day of the party. We had breakfast at another park that day and didn't get done until 3 so we didn't have much downtime in between (my kids were almost 5 and 2 1/2 so it wa sas lot for them in one day).

Re: Mickey not so scary Halloween party
We went last year and the kids LOVED it!! The parade was REALLY great, they did an awesome job of making the MK spooky but not scary, and it was just a lot of fun seeing everyone in costume. We had a great time and I think it was worth the extra expense. The ONLY annoying thing was the trick-or-treat lines were INSANE but that being said, we were at the party ON Halloween so I'm sure that made it worse. It was a lot fun though despite that!!

thanks for the input ... if we go I was thinking we can do it the first day we got there but its a Sunday and I wonder if it will be crazy that day cause of the weekend ... we weren't planning on doing anything the first day cause we are there for 6 days and have 5 tickets I I figure we just relax at the resort and do the parks for the rest of the week (I am not leaving FL when we leave Disney so there will be no rush to get a flight)

Mickey not so scary Halloween party
I would go on a weeknight over a weekend. We went last year and it was horribly busy. Insanely busy. We had fun, but we ONLY went to FL to to the Halloween Party and to hang out at the resort, so it was kind of a killjoy with the crowds. Apparently the previous party that week had been rained out (more than ours I guess), and they were given the option to reschedule for the night of our party.
There are A LOT of rare characters that come out (We were first in line for Lotso), but the lines get long. Parade is awesome! We went to the dance party and my daughter got to play with the Tremaine sisters, which was so awesome.

Crowds used to be low at Disney certain times of the year, namely October, but that is no longer the case! But, you will have less locals at the party if you do say a Tuesday, over a Friday night. Most local kids are in school and their parents won't take them to a party that ends at midnight.

Mickey not so scary Halloween party
I went a few years ago the day after Halloween. People still dressed up but it was not overly crowded. The parade was awesome, candy lines were pretty quick and no long waits for rides. We were 4 adults so I didn't have to wait for character meet and greets but we all loved it. It goes until midnight I believe and the later it got, the less crowded it got. Not sure if you can swing that with little kids but I wouldn't do anything the day of other than relax and nap before heading over to the park.

my 2 boys LOVED it (they were 5 and almost 2). Even my husband and i loved it. Plus there were no waits for rides either so my 5 year old and husband went on a few over and over.

thanks everyone can anyone tell me how it works? I was told you cant just buy a MK ticket and get into it its a separate ticket. so do they close the park early and only let people who have tickets for the not so scary party in?

We were in the park anyway that day so sometime around mid-afternoon we had to stop by a party ticket area within the park. We showed them our Halloween party tickets (which are a separate purchase from regular park admission) and then they gave us trick-or-treat bags, a map/schedule, and the wristbands for the party. As the party time got closer they start filtering people out of the park so by 7pm when it started the only people left were those that paid for the party.
Like I mentioned, I was there on Halloween and it was crazy for the first 2-2.5 hrs but by around 9:30 A LOT of people had left and the tail end of the night was really nice. You pretty much walked on any ride you wanted with no wait, nobody was on the candy lines, and it wasn't wall to wall people. It was really a lot of fun!

Parties do sell out, ours did, so you want to buy the tickets in advance. Kenny The Pirate is a good website to go on to see historical sell out dates, and awesome details of the party. I personally wouldn't use your park ticket during the day, and would instead take it easy at the resort, swim, etc. Otherwise your kids might be too tired to stay for the entire party that you just shelled out almost $400 for! You CAN enter the MK at 4pm with your party ticket, even though the "official" time is later.
I also would not spend a lot of time riding the rides at the party, because you can do that during all of the other days you are there. I would focus on the shows, parade, characters, and other special things you wouldn't see on a regular day.

Re: Mickey not so scary Halloween party
I went in Oct and had soo much fun, soo worth it. Loved the parade they do, we got to meet Jack & Sally-the meet & greet they do is great. The wishes they do for it is also different than the regular one also and I loved it. Also doing some trick or treating was fun. And we were able to get on some rides that during the day had crazy wait times

Re: Mickey not so scary Halloween party
We went 2 years ago and will be going again this year. It was so much fun! It was our most memorable trip thus far.
I also loved that the park isn't so busy at that time of year. We had been before when our first was 2yo and 3yo during January and Spring break and it was very crowded then.

That was our experience - Halloween night and we were there til closing, just getting on ride after ride with no lines. We felt like we had the park by ourselves! We had so much candy, even the adults get to trick or treat. We had went to Animal Kingdom first thing in the morning, then went back to hotel for naps (my kids were 5 and 2.5) and arrived fresh at the party start. My kids never whined and just enjoyed every minute. It was truly a night I won't ever forget.
