my 4 year old peed on the floor
ON PURPOSE because he thought it was funny 
he did it in the bathroom & at first wouldnt tell me why he did it & then told me he did it because he thought it would be funny
is this a phase?? kind of like poop smearing?!! i made him clean the pee off the floor and he wasnt happy about it so i hope that worked

OMG, I'm sorry but that's hysterical. Probably just a phase, and good one making him clean it up! Honestly, I don't know how you got through that without laughing... if it were me, I'd have had to walk away to giggle a little with that answer.

I agree.. when AJ did things like that at 4.. I was VERY clear that NO ONE was laughing.. and whatever "fun" she thought she had was quickly replaced with unfun feelings and consequences. I know people think I'm harsh but I kept the response specific to that particular action. I didn't pester or bring it up again but made my response direct and immediate to the exact action at that exact time.
She was the type to never want that to happen again, so SHE didn't do it again.
So much so, the slamming of her bedroom door was one instance. She was mad at me and me at her, she stormed into her room and slammed the door, I stormed in there and did not yell but used that "im angry" voice and said NO ONE slams *MY* doors in *MY* house but me! and turned around and walked out (did not slam the door). But the voice and immediate action spooked her. I never mentioned it again in any way at all. Fast forward months later, she got huffy at her father (I was innocently sitting on the couch) and she stormed by me and into her room and slammed the door. She quickly came out still angry looked at me and said "sorry didn't meant to slam your door" very angrily and went back in and closed the door properly. I held back my laughter.
Oh but I'd give anything for these issues. *sigh* Now I've got the crazy hormonal nightmare that is 6yrs old. OMG the tears!

Boys think the most vile things are funny. My 4 yo sat on my bed with no undies, saying he was stinking up my bed. He thought it was hilarious,

My nephew did this from the second story banister downstairs into their living room. Didn't happen again luckily!

I guess it's a good thing I have a son, I find these things hysterical... but I have such a boy humor... I love Family Guy and stupid fart jokes like that.

I have boys too and find a lot of the potty stuff is very silly to my oldest. We tried not to make big deals about stuff like that-it sounds like he is looking for a reaction. I have made my oldest help clean up messes too-hope that works!

Me too lol. My son is 1 and any time he farts he looks around immediately to make sure someone heard it and smiles and laughs.
