Weaning Help- I am desperate!

DS is 10 months and I just want to be done with breastfeeding. He won't nurse much during the day because he is so active, so he does the majority of his nursing in the middle of the night. I tried slowly dropping the night feeds to see if he would nurse more and he didn't. Instead I developed Mastitis and my supply dropped. He refuses to take a bottle or sippy, so I have to worry about dehydration if he doesn't nurse. This situation has just become so stressful and I am at a loss as to what to do. I definitely want to be done at a year, but he will still need liquid, right? How do I get him to take a sippy? He just has no interest in drinking liquids!

ETA: He is on solid foods.

Did you try a straw cup? My DD couldn't use the munckin sippies, but the playtex straw cups easily.

DS (9 months old) loves to nurse, but also loves his straw cup. Since he is pretty apathetic about the bottle at this point (aka refuses it), daycare puts his milk in a cup. Since I overpump during the week, I put about 3-4 ounces in a cup with dinner as well.

ETA: sounds like your DS is (unfortunately) reverse cycling. My DS does this at times too. I know he's doing it to snuggle with me and make up for lost time during the day, but I too find it to be stressful.

In all seriousness, if the straw doesn't work, try a regular cup. My DD wouldn't drink from a bottle or sippy. Drank from a straw cup for all of 3 weeks or so before refusing that. Since 15 months or so she has been on a regular cup. (Introduced it at 12 months and it took a bit to get the hang of it)
She just wanted to do things the way we did.

She was also a BF only baby. Even after 12 months she wouldn't drink milk or juice (her choice). She drinks maybe 4oz of water from a cup each day and I give her cheese and yogurt daily to ensure she gets her calcium.

first try a straw cup. I skipped the sippy all together.

2nd its all about patience. Your dc has been on your boob for 10 months learning to drink from a sippy or straw cup is not going to happen overnight. Also its going to take some determination from you to not give in when he whines or wont drink from it right away.
Give him a straw cup at every single meal and throughout the day. Show him how to use it every single day, do not give up and do not give in.
My dd was not breast fed but it still took her about 2-3 months to really get the straw. 1st she would chew on it, or just play with it. Then she realized she could sip it and did sip but for a 1second LOL Then when she realized she was getting water from it she would sip more and more but then spit it out all over herself LOL (that was annoying lots of outfit changes LOL) and then she got it. Just 1 day it all stopped she got it and she never looked back. BUT I never gave up. I gave it to her every single day and slowly cut out bottles. I went slow with her because I know my dd and once she gets something she just gets it and she doesn't look back.
So trust your gut, know your DS and how he operates BUT weaning is not easy, its difficult and it takes not giving in so easily and consistency. Just everyday keep giving the straw cup no matter what. Eventually he will get it and eventually he is going to get thirsty enough that he will drink from it.
