Weaning and supplementing a 9 month old?
When I took Mallory for her 9 month appt, she had only gained a few ounces since her 6 month appt (she was in the 95th percentile, now she is just average) the Dr. was not concerned at all and said that it was just because she wasn't BFing much during the day....well now Mallory doesn't want to BF at all, she's just not interested.... I was planning on BFing until she was 11 months like I did with my son, but apparently she has a different idea She eats regular food like a piggy but do you think I should start supplementing with formula?? I'm going to call the pediatrician tomorrow but I thought maybe one of you had experience with it. TIA!

This probably won't help since I didn't BF but I gave marissa juices, formula and water throughout the day to make sure she was getting enough fluids.

Re: Weaning and supplementing a 9 month old?
I cant offer much since I dont have experience in weaning yet, but I would think that she would probably need to have some formula until 11/12 months when she can switch to whole milk....Im not sure how often she will still BF, but I know my daughter gets so distracted at times it is hard BF during the day. to you, I am not looking forward to weaning Claire from BF, I feel like it gave us special time together....good luck!
