5 month old sleep help, please!!!!
I am in desperate need of advice regarding my 5 month old. He's never slept through the night to date. He gets up any where from 2-5 or more times a night crying, usually with eyes closed. I feed him in the motn anywhere from around 2:30 am- 4 am. He then goes back to sleep until around 7-8 Am. He usually starts these crying fits soon after I put him down asleep. I will pat him gently and shoosh him and he will go back to sleep or I adjust his positioning (I still swaddle)
Im at my wits end, I need to sleep lol. It's bad enough I have to feed in the middle of the night but the added times up crying are killing me.
Thank you for any thoughts or advice

5 month old sleep help, please!!!!
I am right there with you!! My 5mo twins are doing the same thing right now. The only thing that seems to be helping is that we switched DD's formula. As I've been weaning she's been getting more formula and it has been causing her reflux to act up. We switched to something different and she's made it through the night with only 1 or 2 wake-ups. It's still not ideal, but hey, it's a step. Is there any way that it could be a reflux issue? We also started this process by cutting out feeding overnight completely. We started slowly cutting down the amount of oz in the bottle until they were only getting 2oz. They haven't eaten overnight in about a week now. Is there any way that you and your DH can divide up the nights so you can at least get some restful-ish ones? I still wake up when they cry, but when it's DH's night at least I don't have to get out of bed. It really does make a difference. Hang in there!!

I don't have advice but just know that you are not alone. At that age my ds had only slept through the night once.
It's still early. DH and I used to take shifts. I would sleep early and then I'd wake up from 2ish on and he would do the opposite. I work full time and it was def tough but I learned to survive on 4 hrs of sleep.

5 month old sleep help, please!!!!
My 9.5 month old still gets up 1-4 times a night so I feel your pain. I used to think it was all about sound machines, blackout curtains, scheduling and routines, but after having a child I think it is more developmental. DS has STTN, but more often than not he does not. I try to have DH go in, but often he wants to be nursed.

What is the pediatrician saying? Is he eating any baby food yet? What's the last feeding like before he goes to bed (baby food or Milk?)

My 9 month old still gets up numerous times during the night. My first didn't sleep for a very long time. It sucks but it's typical. Teething was a bad time and that was months 4-8 for us.

we need more info. What is your sons schedule?
my 1st took 15 months to sttn but i blame that on my inlaws who used to watch him during the day and didn't believe a baby should sleep.
my 2nd started sttn at 8 weeks (7pm-6am)
my 3rd started at 10 weeks (7pm-6am).

5 month old sleep help, please!!!!
I have no advice but just wanted to say I feel your pain!! My son is 4 months old and over the last week he has gone from sleeping 8-4 and waking up only once to eat before going back down until 630 or 7, to now waking between 4-6 times a night. The other night it seemed like he was up every hour!! DH and I are both zombies everyday. I'm praying that it's only a phase but I don't know. We might have to let him cry for a bit so he learns how to self soothe. Good luck to you!!
