Gender at 12w
Posted also on pregnancy, but will probably get more responses here.
Was anyone told girl at 12w and then had a boy? Thanks!

not me personally, but I know of someone where that happened, but this was at the 16w sono. I definitely wouldn't trust a 12w sono, if that's what they are using, to tell the sex of the baby.

Re: Gender at 12w
I was told boy & had a boy (but the penis & testicles were really obvious on ultrasound).
Probably depends on the picture (and I'm assuming you are talking ultrasound, not DNA testing)
ETA: With my girl, they would not tell me 100% til 20 weeks. They never got a great view: BUT my OB thought it was a girl due to the fact that he didn't see the bits that my boy CLEARLY had.

At my 12w scan the sono showed nothing between the legs - she said she could see perfectly and that there was nothing, so it is likely a girl. I have 2 DDs so was hoping for a DS, but just glad baby looks healthy!

Thanks - I asked, and she took a look. Certainly they will tell me for sure at the 20w!

You never know... The person I know of went through their whole pregnancy, at delivery out popped a boy!

I won't even tell my husband this - he will hold out hope the rest of the 6 months!
The person who does the 12w sonos at my drs office is really good, and she is supposedly almost always right. She was right with DD2 (went to a different practice for DD1 - they told me boy at 12w, but I think that happens much more frequently than saying girl and it being a boy).
