Tantrums...
Ok, well, Alex is just over one year old and she has started throwing some heavy tantrums. If I'm not quick enough getting her food, if I take something out of her hand, if I say no, if I change her diaper, turn off her baby einstein video... you get the point. She used to just whine or cry, but now she full out WAILS. She cries, screams at the top of her lungs and flails about and if I go close to her face to shush her, or kiss her, she slaps me! REALLY HARD! So, BTDT moms... how do I handle this? Do I just ignore it? My instinct is to pick her up and cuddle her, but I suspect it's totally spoiling her and making it worse.

Re: Tantrums...
oooh. Beth, that's tough. Bella throws herself down "hurting" herself when she wants to get picked up and when I put her in the pack n play and try to get ready in the morning, she is good for about ten minutes until she decides that she wants out...then woooooo it begins.
I try to talk to her and keep telling her what I am doing and why I cannot pick her up at that exact moment, but try hard NOT to give in. Sometimes it helps, sometimes not so much... it's definitely worse when she is tired.
